As Middle East Turmoil Continues, Prophecy Watchers Salivate Over Prospect of War

Here we go again. All it takes is some Middle East trouble and some number patterns and the self-proclaimed Watchmen begin to go crazy.

Seems that the latest trouble in the Middle East is the final war to end all wars and the end of the world as we know it.

How do we know this? Our alert Prophecy Watchmen have determined we are at Israel’s 70th birthday, and we all know what zeros and sevens mean.

The Hypsters don’t believe God can tell time when He plainly states timeframes in Scripture, but they swear God uses specific numbers to tell them precisely when they need to gear up. After all, they reason, God loves the number 7 and He loves even zeros. And He has used the number 70 in the past. Voila. A perfect storm of numbers.

None of this is actually in the Bible, of course. That doesn’t stop them.

Take a listen:

He isn’t alone, not by a long shot. Those of us in the non-dispensational, non-hype camp had predicted that 2018 would bring out the Hypsters. After all, it will soon be 70 years since Israel became a state on May 14.

What’s particularly bad this time around is that the continued tragedy in Syria and the new trouble brewing elsewhere in the Middle East is being celebrated as “exciting” as things “gear up” for the end. Trump’s embassy move, it is predicted (hoped?), will spark a war.

Here’s an example.

Yep. It’s “Goodbye suckers, I’m outta here!” No mention, of course, of the thousands of potential victims of the war, both soldiers or collateral damage. Nothing about suffering families, moms and dads losing their 21 year old kids. Nothing about the economic cost, the infrastructure damage, the pain and blood and tears and refugees and the rest.

I have the feeling that if this “Inevitable War” was coming upon America, in this guy’s hometown, he wouldn’t be so excited.

His YouTube channel is filled with like-minded followers:

“Excited” but “sad”. Right.

One’s belief about eschatology affects their daily life, and this is a perfect example of that.

Do you believe we are in the final moments of world history, and that we are spiraling out of control toward the final battles and wars of earth? That Jesus will first whisk the Christians to heaven before things really hit the fan?

Then you have no reason to fear – and no reason to care about the trouble coming. We won’t be around to see it, after all. In fact, bring it on!

Fellow believer, ask yourself this question: would Jesus Christ, God the Father, the Holy Spirit – deliberately create a situation that would cause His people to react this way? To be “excited” about the prospect of death?

Fellow Christian Hypster, ask yourself this question: were any of these days “exciting” to you, or your family, or your ancestors?

I suggest, gently and in love, that you watch your attitude and especially what you say on YouTube, because the fact of the matter is, we could simply be staring at the beginning of another one of these tragedies. And you (yes YOU, watchman!) will be right here to witness it.
